It hit 40 degrees Celsius today.  This sundress is great for the office but I do often wear a cardigan in the office with it to cover my tattoos for certain meetings.

It's starting to get quite warm here in Melbourne, this dress is nice and cool to wear and these new sandals are soooo comfortable!

Op Shop purchase - November 2012

I have a Mad Men themed party to go to this weekend and I have been struggling with what I am going to wear.  While wasting time before my dentist appointment, I stuck my head in a neighbouring charity store and managed to find a formal style dress for $12 for the event.

The only alterations will be to remove the shoulder pads and raise the hem.
All in all, not bad for $12!  It has really saved me time in making something as well.

Purchases November 2012... another shopping spree!

I can't help myself... when ever I see the term 40% off at Marimekko I have to buy.

It is quite the addiction....

The weather is crazy today!  Crazy rain and storms.  I grabbed my poncho this morning and I'm so glad that I did.

I adore a rain poncho, they are so useful when you are travelling and they keep your hands free, unlike an umbrella.  Rain ponchos rock!

We have been in Sydney for the launch of the flagship Marimekko store.  Naturally being a crazy Marimekkophile, I had to make some purchases while we were there.  Well actually, my husband bought me treats!  ha, ha!  However, these are my new additions to my closet.

Accessory Purchase: November 2012

A little local shop that I love called Blackbird and Fox, always stocks lovely handmade or artisan pieces from Australian makers.  I spied this resin necklace and had to have it!  It's by local maker Keep Resin.

Total cost was $54AUD.  It's so bright and fun!!!!

• Black clutch bag, purchased from Century 21 in NYC for approximately $15USD

My dress got many comments on the evening and I was proud to wear something that I made and also that was vintage based!

It's that time again!  A bit of a summary of my closet consumption for the month of October:

3 x Marimekko dresses from New York City, all bought on sale - $310USD

Total of approximately $360AUD.  Not too bad...

I did, however make 2 dresses!!!!  I feel like I have managed to get my sewing mojo back and I'm looking forward to making some new Summer dresses and retiring some of my older ones that are starting to look a bit tatty!
